The Grace Project is dedicated to instilling hope through compassionate actions for both children and adults affected by illness, poverty, or addiction. Currently, our organization operates three distinct programs, each designed to address unique aspects of the challenges faced by our community.
Our Kensington Outreach program, where our roots are firmly established, involves weekly visits to the Kensington section of Philadelphia. During these visits every Thursday, we provide essential supplies to the homeless, facilitate placements in treatment programs, and conclude each outreach effort with a neighborhood cleanup initiative.
The Give a "Little" Hope Program is specially crafted to bring joy and optimism to children in need. This program allows us to orchestrate entire days tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of these children, creating positive and lasting memories for them.
Additionally, our Hope for the Holidays program is dedicated to ensuring that families in need experience memorable and uplifting holidays.
As we look ahead, the Grace Project is committed to continuous growth and expansion of our impactful initiatives, aiming to extend our reach and serve an even broader audience in the pursuit of spreading hope and positivity within our communities.
$100 can feed 200 people
$300 can sponsor a family of 4 on the holidays
$2000 can sponsor an entire Give A “Little” Hope Day.
Securing a Lot
In response to recent indications from city officials suggesting the potential elimination of street outreach services, our nonprofit aims to proactively address this issue by acquiring a strategically located lot in the Kensington area. Ideally situated near the key intersections of Kensington Ave & Allegheny Ave or Kensington Ave & Lehigh, we plan to initiate a multi-phase approach. Beginning with beautification efforts, we intend to transform the lot into a community hub. This hub will serve as a clean and organized distribution point for essential supplies, minimizing street litter. Additionally, it will contribute to the aesthetic enhancement of the area, offering facilities for personal hygiene, including showers and restroom facilities. Beyond that, we aspire to provide valuable resources to individuals seeking to transition away from homelessness.
Securing a House
In the geographical area we serve, addressing the critical need for housing assistance has emerged as a pivotal focus for our nonprofit. Our vision involves acquiring a residential property to establish a transitional living house, offering comprehensive services to facilitate individuals' reintegration into stable living situations. Among the essential services we aim to provide are assistance in obtaining replacements for vital documents, such as government IDs and birth certificates, that individuals may have lost during their experience of homelessness.
Moreover, we aspire to support these individuals in their job search endeavors, guiding them toward the next steps in their journey to self-sufficiency. Our commitment extends to aiding eligible individuals in accessing government assistance programs and providing resources for recovery. To bring this vision to fruition, we aim to secure funding through government channels, initially offering housing to individuals at no cost during the initial phase. As participants progress in their journey, they would gradually transition to paying rent, creating a sustainable model. This holistic approach not only empowers individuals to rebuild their lives but also holds the potential to generate additional income, directly reinvested into the program for its continual enhancement.
Expanding Give a “Little” Hope
The Grace Project aspires to enhance and broaden the impact of our Give a "Little" Hope program, specifically designed to uplift children affected by poverty, addiction, or illness. Currently constrained by the financial demands associated with these events, we are restricted to organizing 1-2 Give a "Little" Hope days annually.
Our goal is to overcome these limitations and transition towards a more frequent schedule, aiming to conduct these uplifting events on a monthly basis. Additionally, we envision extending our reach through the introduction of community-based Give a "Little" Hope days in lower-income areas. Through these initiatives, we intend to bring joy and a day of wholesome entertainment to children within their local communities. By expanding the program's frequency and geographic scope, we hope to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of more children facing challenging circumstances.
